TUESDAYS – (January 17th-February 14th)
Fun with Science $20
Students will bring out the scientists in them while learning about a variety of science topics and conducting exciting experiments. Learn how a volcano erupts, how magnets work and much more in this new and exciting class!
The Magic of Eating Rainbows: How to find treasures in Colorful foods $20
Do you wish your children would choose to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables on their own? This enrichment program based on the children’s book “Discover the Magic of Rainbows”, by Dick Evans will aim to educate children about the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables in their daily diet. The exciting and student-centered sessions will be designed around introducing kids to colorful fruits and vegetables, and learning about why fruits and vegetables are essential for healthy and strong bodies. Participants will see and sample a variety of the fruits and vegetables talked about in the book. The program will conclude with each student designing his/her own “rainbow” basket of foods to eat.
(Because there is no nurse at NGES during ASEP, we recommend children with food allergies not enroll in this class.)
Teamworks Gym Games $25
Teamworks staff will instruct children in gym games and sports such as soccer, kickball, fitness games and tagging games that should help burn off some energy during these winter weeks!! Get ready to have loads of fun while learning new skills in a fun-filled sports environment! Don't forget to wear your sneakers!
Finger Knitting Scarves $25
Ready, Set, Sew of Grafton will provide our students a fun exciting environment to learn the art of Finger Knitting. Finger Knitting is a way to weave yarn, using both hands. The yarn is wound around the fingers and then slipped over to create a "knit" stitch. This is repeated and becomes a long piece. It is fun and a good way of introducing knitting to young children.
THURSDAYS – (January 19th-February 16th)
Games Galore $20
Students will have the opportunity to challenge their friends in their favorite board and card games such as Sorry, Chutes and Ladders, iSpy and UNO as well as work together at puzzles and games such as Hopscotch and Guesstures (charades).
Fun with Legos $20
Each week, students will construct something different using Legos. Using their own imaginations, the children will also have time each week to build and share a new creation. During the five-week class, children will take home one of their creations.
Apple Tree Arts “In the Spotlight” $25
Have you ever wondered what it takes to put on a show? Join us and learn all about it!! Together we will create a short play to present to family and friends. Join Grafton's own Apple Tree Arts in this wonderful, drama filled class!
Art with Ms. Runne $25
Each week the students will explore different techniques for drawing, painting and working with clay. Let's have fun and be creative with pinch pots, painting and more! Please have your child bring an old shirt to use as a smock during the class if they do not have one at school.
